Wintry Beauty of Nature: /I leave my place of solitude My place of solace For a leisurely stroll Amidst a chilly winter's day The snow falls light and appears almost airy The floral is blanketed with snow As the ice begins to form with the dropping climate Shards of ice pretrude from the branches of trees Like daggers Certainly a sight to behold Winter's beauty Nature's beauty at it's most elegant. And the fauna begins to prepare For the coming snowstorm I too must prepare And gather my rations With the small animals feasting on the slowly dying plant-life As the larger ones prepare to consume their prey Nature. The circle of life. Such unsuspecting creatures. Their only thoughts lay with survival and nothing more. Pure souls. Susceptible to the elements and unknowing of their fate. I, too, am unknowing of my own fate and demise. I have been lost in my thoughts for too long. I am in an unfamiliar place As the skies have become gray And the only light being the walls of continuous snow in every direction./ A Glacial Grave: /I have wandered these desolate, snowy plains for a time that is held in a distant memory. I have lost all feeling in both of my arms and my legs may soon succumb to the same fate. Pale sheets of snowfall cover this landscape with no hope of shelter or warmth in the distance. The only signs of life come from the trees that are slowly becoming frail and weeping as they too are covered in the frost. The snow flakes cascading from the sky feel like small, soft, emotionless, pale kisses of death. Though this will be my resting place, it is a splendid sight to behold as the wind whispers a sweet song of death into my ears. I can no longer feel anything in my body. Hypothermia is quickly taking hold. My vision is failing as the white hills in front of me seem to be continuing endlessly into the distance. My entire body turns the color of alabaster as the relentlessly frigid wind grips my throat and begins to suffocate me. My eyes slowly close with the surrounding snowfall being my final sight. A fitting resting place. I will die here cold, empty, alone./
